PROGRESS REPORT: WEDDING GALLERY STUDIO
Another work in progress to share with you! These projects take time to complete; this one due to the client's quick move whilst continuing to operate their business. (I am using these reports as a draft for when I get to shoot the final pictures for my portfolio sometime in the future.)
This young wedding photography company was moving from a office building location in Burwood to a street frontage location in Leichhardt. They knew what they wanted their new studio space to look like, but needed someone - myself! - to bring it all together!
The space is broken down into three sections: wedding gallery at the front, change room/make up area in the middle and work space in the back. The front space was a relatively easy fix, with a request of dark grey gallery walls to display their large, framed, wedding photographs. The back room was a more of a challenge, with peeling paint walls and positively hideous linoleum flooring that was pieced together with brown masking tape, and dripping wet from a leak in the ceiling. It was one of those moments often discussed in renos, when you lift the hideous flooring to reveal a gem below. In this case, black painted floorboards, that tied in perfectly with the scheme. The floorboards were repainted and look amazing!
In response to the client brief of Organic Luxury, we are currently working on layering in colour and texture through cushions, rugs and plants. Once the layering is complete, and the rest of the boxes unpacked, I will be able to go back for a final styling/photography session. For now, here is the work in progress...
