Design Notes

This project began at a point where an existing bedroom no longer reflected a growing tween’s independence or interests. The brief was to create a space that felt more mature and personal, while still offering a sense of calm, creativity, and retreat.

The design brought together a bedroom and adjacent sitting area to support a range of everyday activities—from rest and downtime to homework, crafts, and filming YouTube videos. Informed by family trips to Japan and skiing holidays, the scheme incorporates a hand-painted mountain mural and colours selected by the client herself. Thoughtful furniture and storage choices ensure the spaces work together and can continue to evolve as needs change.
