Design + Documentation is a comprehensive interior design service for Sydney homeowners who need a coordinated approach to their project. From spatial planning and selections through to detailed drawings and schedules, I develop the design and communicate the decisions so builders, joiners and suppliers can understand the proposed work.

The scope is tailored to your project, whether you’re updating a kitchen and adjoining living area, planning custom joinery or coordinating improvements across several rooms.

Bringing the design together

Your proposal will identify the services and deliverables appropriate to your project. These may include:

Reviewing your brief, exploring layout options and establishing an overall direction through plans, reference imagery and material concepts.

Materials, finishes and product selections
Coordinating colours, surfaces, fixtures, fittings, furniture, lighting and window furnishings to suit the design, budget and practical requirements.

Joinery design
Developing kitchens, wardrobes, storage and other custom joinery, with plans, elevations and relevant details to communicate layout, function and finishes.

Design drawings and schedules
Preparing the agreed drawings and specifications to record decisions and communicate the proposed work. These may include floor plans, internal elevations, joinery drawings, materials and finishes schedules, and furniture, fixture and lighting specifications.

Design coordination
Liaising with builders, joiners and suppliers to clarify design information, review proposed alternatives and address queries as the project develops.

Procurement and implementation support
Where agreed, assisting with quotations, ordering, supplier communication and delivery coordination, along with site visits and design queries during installation.

How we’ll work together

1. Establish the brief and scope
We’ll discuss your space, priorities, budget and intended timing. I’ll outline the recommended work and provide a written fee proposal for your approval.

2. Explore and develop the design
Layouts and concepts are reviewed together, then refined through your feedback. Materials, products and key details are considered as part of the overall design.

3. Document the agreed decisions
Once the design direction and selections are approved, I’ll prepare the agreed drawings and schedules to support pricing, purchasing and implementation.

4. Support the next stage
Where included in your scope, I’ll assist with supplier and trade liaison, procurement and design clarification as the work progresses.

Design + Documentation is suited to projects requiring a broader scope, with connected design decisions and a coordinated drawing and specification package. It can follow either service, or we can discuss a tailored scope from the outset.

Investment

Fees are tailored to the size, complexity and agreed scope of your project.

Your written proposal will set out the services, deliverables, fee basis, GST and payment arrangements before work begins. Coordination, procurement and implementation support will be identified in the scope where required.

Any additional work or changes to the agreed scope will be discussed and approved before proceeding.

About the documentation

Drawings and schedules communicate the agreed design intent and provide information for pricing and implementation.

The documentation required will depend on your project. Any necessary approvals, specialist consultant input, construction documentation or fabrication shop drawings will be identified and arranged with the relevant professionals and trades. Site dimensions must be verified before manufacture or installation.
